About the role

Digitalisation will put new demands on our business and drive IT to become an important digital asset for business development, new business models and corporate efficiency. As the Software Asset Manager, you will actively work on consolidating vendor and software agreements. You will take lead on all software and vendor related topics. You will set strategies, establish processes, recommend and guide colleagues in their daily challenges within these areas. Effective Software Asset Management (SAM) is important to reduce license risks and optimise the value of the license portfolio within Dometic. Dometic are looking for someone who has experience in license management and models, optimisation and tools. You will play a key role in strengthening the organisation and their capability to strategically drive this area.

Primary responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilisation and disposal of software applications
  • Perform end-to-end License Management activities, license inventory management, license usage verification, maintenance cost/benefit analysis and license optimisation
  • Establish processes and routines and optimise the use of existing and new suppliers in order to gain control, reduce risk and cost
  • Encompass the use of licensed software as well as the usage of software as a service in different delivery models
  • Check, analyse and report how the license holdings are in accordance with contract and supplier terms
  • Participate in contract negotiation processes, software audits and change management
  • Have a holistic view of overall vendor performance and participate in vendor-related discussions
  • Build and maintain relationships with managers and key stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor around licenses

About you

  • 3 or more years of experience in specialist/manager or consulting role
  • Experience working with commercial issues in technically complex areas
  • Experience in service agreements with global suppliers
  • Experience as a negotiator of sourcing services
  • Experience in working in larger organisations and in an outsourced environment
  • Experience from IT operations is a plus
  • Knowledge of license models and agreements within one or more of the major software suppliers (Microsoft, Adobe, Citrix, VMware, Cisco, IBM or other)
  • Strong project management, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Structured and comfortable in a spider-in-a-web position
  • Strong communication skills
