Mutate is an exciting startup based in Stockholm, Sweden with a growing remote team. They’re developing a social gaming and game-creation platform where anybody can make or play games with their friends, aimed at late teens and young adults. Accessibility and inclusiveness are a core part of the product, and their vision is that anyone can be a creator. Now is a very exciting time – the funding is secured, the platform is ready in its first version and it is time to bring the product to the users.

About the role

We are looking for someone with solid knowledge in gaming, not necessarily from working in the gaming industry but experience from the 3D space, how to move things around and a good understanding of the interaction patterns. This is an encompassing role with tool-making focus and you will take projects from ideation to fully specced out and mocked up features. We think you are familiar with Unreal, Unity, UGC-tools, Roblox, Core or similar and are passionate about gaming. Remote work is not a problem, but we prefer you to be close to the CET zone. 

Some of the things you’ll be working on:

  • Be the primary owner of the UX for the application or tool you’ll be working on.
  • UX wireframes, prototypes, presentations, and final UX for products and features
  • Test and analyse the use of new and existing features
  • Turn high level requirements into innovative prototypes
  • Co-create with your team and our users
  • Document and present your designs to the rest of the team
  • Assess insights of user behaviour to improve existing features for a better user experience

Some things we’ll be looking for:

  • 4+ years of UX design experience, preferably within the gaming industry
  • A strong portfolio
  • Growth- and team oriented
  • An agile mindset
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken
  • A genuine gaming interest
