About the role

Sambla Group is looking for an experienced leader to join them as their Head of Data. As the leader of the data organization, you’ll be responsible for setting the vision of data at Sambla, scaling and supporting the Data team as they enable decision-making and product building. In setting a vision for the organization, you will develop a culture of excellence, grow leaders, and inspire innovation. From day one you will play an important role in helping Sambla achieve its potential through leveraging the power of Data and Insight.


  • You will lead and mentor senior data leaders who manage the data science, BI, analytics, and data engineering teams for services offered on mutliple markets
  • You will be building the overall Data Strategy/Roadmap for how we get the data advantage to create benefits for Sambla’s customers, employees, and owners
  • Work closely with senior leaders from tech and commercial departments to define a clear mission for the data function across the entire organization
  • Work closely with your Data team to execute the roadmap
  • Ensure that the company’s data foundation is future-proof, scalable, performant, and secure
  • Ensure the right systems and BI analytics tools are in place and that data is easily accessible to internal business users as well as to any external tools
  • Make sure that data is handled safely and according to the latest rules, laws, and regulations in relation to the services that Sambla Group provides
  • Be an active part of the Tech Management and collaborate with other leaders in the organization in order to improve our technology and enhance Sambla ́s competitive edge

Your profile

You have a passion for taking a customer-driven approach to building high-quality solutions for your customers, and you take pride in owning & maintaining what your team builds. For you, it comes naturally in working closely with other teams such as product, engineering, sales, marketing, customer service, and finance to advocate data and help them to get data they need to improve their products or solve their needs. As an experienced leader, you have a proven ability in advising technical and non-technical stakeholders with strategic guidance in relation to Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Science.


  • Proven success in building, developing and managing a high-performance team, preferably in a B2C Product/SaaS business or gaming
  • The successful candidate will be curious, analytical, business-oriented, pragmatic, methodical, proactive, autonomous, humble (but ambitious), both a leader and a team player
  • You have an excellent understanding of modern data architecture and data modeling to maximize data usage across the business
  • Experience architecting modern, scalable data pipelines that can satisfy multiple products and different stakeholders
  • Experience in data privacy, locally applicable data regulations such as GDPR, and emerging trends
  • A good understanding of GCP and/or similar Data platforms and Power BI
  • You probably have a degree in engineering, financials, or data science
