Investment Director

EQT Ventures is a multi-stage, multi-sector fund whose mission is to support ambitious founders on their journeys to global success. About the role

We’re looking to bring on an Investment Director who loves product and tech innovation to join our Stockholm office. You’ll work in our investment team on deal work, sourcing, and evaluating new opportunities across the Nordic region.

• Meet and evaluate early-stage and scale-up companies. Move from a high level-analysis phase to a deeper understanding of what the opportunities ahead are, and how a specific company can help be a part of the solution.
• Create lasting relationships with Founders, regardless if EQT Ventures in the end invests or not. We strongly believe that informal and transparent feedback to Founders is the best way to help long term.
• Understand what kind of teams, products, and companies have the potential to solve important problems, and hence be interesting and attractive investment opportunities for EQT Ventures.
• Collaborate with the rest of the EQT Ventures team in putting together the best internal team to help and assess the Founders we meet. You are humble and understand that we are generalists with an information disadvantage, but that we use our team’s strength to make high-quality decisions.
• Drive the investment process forward independently, and enjoy the mix of working alone and with colleagues. The process can be ambiguous at times and is always evolving.

A successful Investment Director meets a ton of people every year, loves discussing problems, ideas, and the future, and has a great sense of which founders/companies to spend more time with to assess if we are a good match. The Investment Director eventually fights for these founders internally at EQT Ventures as we discuss potential investments in the greater team, and combines passion with analytical insight to build a case of why the fund should invest.

About you

The ideal candidate is a curious, fast learner who has been a part of a tech startup journey already, but now wants to try out what it’s like to invest in companies rather than running them yourself. No education requirement (some of our partners are self-taught and university dropouts), but we believe you are a people person who loves tech and crazy ideas and has a high-risk appetite since the odds are almost never in a venture capitalist’s favor.

To make our team even stronger and more diverse, we are looking for someone with experience in product development and/or technical experience. Preferably as a founder or Co-founder in a startup, scaleup, or larger venture-funded tech company.
