VP and Head of Engineering

Are you an experienced leader with a software background? We are now looking for a Head of Engineering for Sinch’s Operator Messaging Product Unit. Operator Messaging creates software solutions for network infrastructure and services, providing efficient and scalable solutions for messaging, charging & policy control, revenue assurance, and fraud prevention. These solutions form the foundation for many of Sinch’s offerings but are also offered stand-alone and used by many of the major mobile operators around the world.  

The essence of the role

As VP and Head of Engineering at Sinch Operator, you will lead a growing team of around 30 people with 4 direct reports. You will set the overall strategy and secure clear direction and goals for the Sinch Operator tech organization and set up teams in the best possible way in order to deliver on the company strategy in a fast and sustainable way.

You will develop and coach your tech management team, constantly developing their leadership skills to enable an environment where each team member can be inspired, productive, and focus on the right things, at the right time.

You are expected to lead the architectural work and engage in architectural discussions, determine tradeoffs, seek to reduce complexity, and drive a transparent discussion toward the right decisions. There is a strong culture of engineering excellence and pride in the team and you will act as an ambassador for Sinch values in everything you do both internally and externally.

Together with Product Management and Operations, you will be responsible for delivering successful products to the market. The trio will ensure that the products are fit-to-market, technologically forward-looking, and delivered on time with quality.

Experience in the telecommunications and mobile messaging industry is a plus. In Order To Contribute To This Role You Have

• Extensive leader experience, of which at least 4 years in senior leadership positions.
• A proven track record of delivering a competitive product portfolio evolution
• Knowledge of different software methodologies and an understanding of using them in a way to match the business needs
• Ability to handle multiple stakeholders
• Experience in creating an environment that encourages transparency and where the team manages to handle stakeholder requests whilst still finding time to innovate and create next-generation solutions.
• Strong leadership and track record of delivering high engagement scores and results
• Proven experience in making important and complex architectural decisions on large software platform projects.

You’ll Stand Out From The Crowd If You Have

• A proven track record leading distributed and virtual teams.
• Experience in developing a scalable cloud-native platform from a leading role.
• International experience from working with mobile operators preferably both from mature and emerging markets.
• Experience in driving platform evolution, preferably from a SaaS company.
