Swedish Match develops, manufactures, and sells quality products under market-leading brands in the product segments of Smoke-free products, Cigars and Lighting products. The largest segment includes nicotine portions, snus, moist snuff and chewing tobacco.

The Group strives to contribute to improved public health by offering attractive alternatives to cigarettes. Some well-known brands are General (snus), ZYN (nicotine portions) and Cricket (lighters). Manufacturing takes place in seven countries and the largest sales markets are the US and Scandinavia. As of November 2022, Swedish Match is a subsidiary of Philip Morris International (PMI), which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Swedish Match is in a phase of large international expansion, resulting in loads of new opportunities, one of which is the exciting role of Product Management Analyst.

The Role

You will join a division called the Innovation Center, where decisions are made for all new and existing products. It’s the place where continuous strategic planning is conducted for the product portfolio and handles questions like – What products should be introduced, where are they making the most impact and what strategic withdrawals could be made to uphold a high-quality balance in different markets?

To ensure Swedish Match’s portfolio is always optimized, an S&OP process has been introduced and Product Review meetings are held once a month. It will be your responsibility to gather and present the data necessary to take the strategic portfolio decisions for the upcoming period. To say the least, it’s a very exciting position for an analytic mind who likes being the go-to person with a hawk eye on the operation at large. 

You will use and build a network of stakeholders to gather valuable information on costs, supply, demand, and everything else that can be used to evoke well-founded arguments to optimize the portfolio.

In short, you will:

  • Use gathered data to set the agenda for monthly Product Review meetings.
  • Act on decisions made at the Product Reviews.
  • Create relationships with BI, Manufacturing and Data Science to ensure a flow of quality information.
  • Look for, detect, and analyze business deviations and suggest appropriate actions.
  • Create well-working workflows with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct Portfolio analysis for understanding of aggregated portfolio.
  • Support relevant stakeholders and the Innovation Center Mgm Team with analysis and reports.

Furthermore, you should have:

  • At least 3+ years of experience (Analyst in Data, Product, Portfolio, Supply Chain, or other relevant equivalents, such as Project Manager or Controller in a suitable setting).
  • Experience in Sales & Operations processes.
  • Experience in industries such as business consultancy, international product vendors or producers.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Great social skills and an eye for business opportunities.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
