Railfinder is looking for a Head of Operations to join in a key leading position of their founding team and serve as the commercial enabler of their mission towards sustainable mobility.

Railfinder is a ground-breaking trip planning and booking experience for international train travel in Europe. It highlights how train travel is better than other options and makes international trains readily available for everyone. The Position 

As the Head of Operations at Railfinder, your role is to establish and nurture the commercial partnerships and agreements necessary to offer the best tickets for any train journey throughout Europe. You will become the third key leader, representing the commercial side of the business. The initial goal for this position is to secure resale agreements, including the whole process from relationships to contract management. 

You will work closely with the Founder/Head of Product and Head of Marketing to continuously set the company’s strategic direction. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Commercial Partnerships 

  • Set the strategy for establishing and maintaining relationships with the train operators you will be reselling tickets for. 
  • Nurture relationships with train operators in the long term. 
  • Continuously look for new opportunities that support the mission of hassle-free and accessible train travel.

2. Contracts & Compliance 

  • Manage all commercial contracts, including negotiations, to turn agreements into reality. 
  • Manage sales policies to ensure you make the best promise possible to the customers while staying compliant and commercially viable.

The role can grow as we find the right match for future needs and the hire. That might include customer service, legal, or finance, and will be adapted as we grow. 


This position requires: 

  • Experience in commercial relationships & deal-making, preferably but not necessarily within the training industry. 
  • Business development skills to creatively and continuously find business opportunities per our mission. 
  • Proven leadership skills, including motivation, group dynamics, project management, and goal setting. 
  • Discipline to say no to anything but the most essential priorities towards our mission. 
  • Language skills: English and preferably also Swedish.
