About the Role:

Our client a market leader, is searching for an engaging, customer-centric Chief Technology Officer. In this role, you will steer the company’s technological direction, driving innovation and growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will shape business growth, foster a culture of innovation, and oversee the development and implementation of products to optimize value for customers and business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, drive, and execute the technical direction and strategy, ensuring an up-to-date tech platform while integrating new, innovative solutions for our client´s transition into an app-first company
  • Lead a growing team of 80+ colleagues to excellence with 3-5 Managers reporting to you
  • Build a strong leadership team within tech with the joint mission to cultivate a culture of collaboration, speed, ownership, and accountability
  • Lead the development of a scalable tech and product development function, prioritizing agility, data-driven insights, and efficiency
  • Driving the transition towards the development of new products and features with an app-first approach, ensuring high quality and alignment with customer needs
  • Collaborate with other departments, including product management, sales, and marketing, to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with business goals
  • Balance the short and long-term needs and recommend technologies and tools that can enhance products and services, and drive efficiency within the organization
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges, ensuring the security and stability of products and systems
  • Drive AI advancements for improved efficiency and product development
  • Attract, retain, and grow the talent and capabilities needed, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the organization

About You:

You are an experienced leader who has previously led and developed high-performing teams, preferably from an environment that has faced similar challenges and growth (organization scaling, fostering a culture of speed, accountability, and deliverables while modernizing technology). Moreover, you can drive change and transformation while instilling confidence throughout the organization, empowering your teams to excel. You possess a modern view of product development, emphasizing an iterative approach focusing on the end-user and customer value. Requirements:

  • Proven track record of leadership in technology roles, with at least 5 years of experience leading engineering and technology teams via leaders
  • Proven track record in leading change and scaling technical/product organisations
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate business goals into technology initiatives/roadmaps
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and to inspire and motivate teams
  • Team-focused, promoting knowledge-sharing and innovation while instilling ownership
  • Experience in agile product development and app-first companies
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and develop top technical talent
  • Experience working in B2C and B2B SaaS and/or media companies would be an advantage
  • Willingness and drive to understand and explore the possibilities of emerging technologies including AI
