About the Role

Now they’re looking for a Data Architect who can define and build the foundation of their data infrastructure. This role is critical to scaling their product, ensuring their systems remain reliable, secure, and efficient as they grow.

You’ll be both strategic and hands-on—designing data systems while actively coding and implementing solutions. Working closely with the rest of the team at Chapter Two, you’ll provide the seniority and direction needed to make the right architectural decisions for their data platform.

What You’ll Do

• Shape Data Architecture – Design scalable, secure, and adaptable data systems for royalty data and music rights transactions.
• Build and Automate Pipelines – Create dependable ETL pipelines that ingest, transform, and enrich data, leveraging AWS services and Infrastructure as Code.
• Database Optimization & Modeling – Use your strong PostgreSQL skills to design efficient schemas, optimize queries, and ensure high-performance data access.
• Governance & Data Quality – Establish standards and policies that ensure accuracy, security, and trust in our royalty and valuation data.
• Evaluate & Advise – Assess architectural trade-offs, explain them clearly, and guide stakeholders toward the best balance of scalability, performance, cost, and complexity.

Their current Stack

Development in Python, Typescript, and cloud hosted in AWS (Step Functions, SageMaker, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and IaC).

About you

We believe that you are an experienced Data Engineer or Data Architect with deep knowledge of cloud-based, scalable architectures. You have experience and have been part of scaling a Data Platform.

• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, and automation
• Comfortable working with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform)
• Able to balance strategic architecture decisions with practical implementation
• Familiar with best practices from companies handling large-scale data
• Skilled in Python
• Curious, energetic, and proactive—just as eager to experiment and learn as you are to bring proven solutions
