Chief Technology Officer

Our client is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company based in Stockholm with a strong international customer base. Their platform processes large volumes of structured and unstructured data, helping organizations turn it into reliable, actionable insights. Backed by leading European investors, they are now building the next chapter of their technical vision.

The Role

As their Chief Technology Officer, you will define and drive the technical vision and strategy for the company. This is a hands-on technical leadership position — you will shape the architecture, stay close to the details, and set the standard for technical quality across the organization.

The core challenge is not just scale — it is ensuring data quality and consistency in a fast-moving, high-volume environment.

The company is evolving a scalable data-first SaaS platform toward deeper AI-driven capabilities. This means building agentic workflows, AI-first product experiences, and changing how the engineering organization itself works with AI. The incoming CTO will own this end-to-end.

You will lead an engineering organization of 50-70 engineers, led through a team of Engineering Managers, and report directly to the CEO. You will work closely with product, design, and data science.

What You’ll Do

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for the data platform
• Drive the shift towards agentic architecture and AI-native product experiences
• Build and develop a world-class engineering organization
• Embed AI-first development practices across engineering teams
• Stay hands-on — architecture reviews, key technical decisions, complex problem-solving
• Work closely with product and design to turn business vision into technical reality

What They’re Looking For

Must have:

• Hands-on experience building distributed data systems at scale in production
• Real fluency in agentic AI — you’ve built it, not just read about it
• Technical credibility that senior engineers respect
• A track record of building and leading high-performing teams

Nice to have:

• Deep knowledge of modern open source data infrastructure
• Background in data science or machine learning
• Experience from a data-intensive domain — data-intensive SaaS or enterprise software
• Experience building AI-native products in an early-stage environment — as a founder or early technical leader
